A Massachusetts man was arrested in New Hampshire on Saturday for allegedly driving at speeds up to 134 mph.
New Hampshire State Police troopers were conducting a traffic enforcement initiative on I-93 in Bow and, at 7:15 a.m., received a 911 call reporting several sports cars traveling at high speeds along I-293, according to a statement from State Police.
Shortly after the call, a trooper in a State Police aircraft spotted the cars near the Hooksett tolls. The trooper then observed one of the cars, a white 2016 BMW, speed up rapidly to 134 mph, police said, and relayed its location to troopers on the ground.
A trooper on the ground conducted a traffic stop on the BMW. The driver 鈥 identified as Robert Low, 32, of Webster, Massachusetts 鈥 was arrested on a charge of reckless driving and was scheduled to be in court on a later date, according to the statement.
Low was one of 34 drivers observed committing a motor vehicle violation in a three-hour period on Saturday, State Police said. Of these, 20 were going 90 mph or faster, and three were going 100 mph or faster, according to police. These 23 drivers were stopped for excessive speeding.
