Scientists have developed ‘jelly ice,’ a reusable and compostable alternative to traditional ice, addressing the problem of meltwater. Made from gelatin, it holds water in pores, freezing and thawing without leaks. With 80% cooling efficiency compared to regular ice, it’s reusable and eco-friendly. Inspired by seafood displays, this innovation has applications in food preservation, medicine, and areas with water scarcity.
