Ghana Premier League: Dr Prosper Ogum set for a return to the Ghanaian top flight

Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum is expected to make a sensational return to the Ghanaian topflight ahead of the 2025/2026 football season, as reported by the media

The Black Galaxies’ head coach and former Asante Kotoko trainer is currently unattached after leaving the Porcupine Warriors midway through the just ended Ghana Premier League season.

The former University of Cape Coast Physical Education tutor and educationist left the record Ghana Premier League title holders after a poor run of results in the league which had his spell being truncated and was replaced with former Dreams FC and National U17 and U2o head coach, Abdul Karim Zito on interim basis.

Zito led the Porcupine Warriors to an FA Cup by clinching the 2024/25 edition, edging past lower-tier side Golden Kick FC to add to their existing 9 FA Cup titles. After leaving Kotoko, Narteh Ogum left for the United States of America to upgrade and refresh himself.

However, with the football season scheduled to kick off in September, as announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the former WAFA head coavh is expected to make a swift return to the topflight as indicated by local media outlets. With all being said, it is still yet to be known what club have the former Ebusua Dwarfs boss on their radar for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

Narteh Ogum is famously remembered for guiding WAFA to a 3rd place finish and leading Asante Kotoko to a Ghana Premier League title both in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 Ghana Premier League seasons respectfully.
