The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has conferred a special honour on the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel, by appointing him as the Patron of its Zone B.
This recognition is a testament to Prof. Samuel鈥檚 outstanding contributions to the development and growth of Nigerian students, particularly those of Ambrose Alli University.
The investiture ceremony took place at the university during a one-day symposium and inter-school quiz competition organized by the Joint Campus Council, Edo State Axis of NA,NS. In his remarks, former National Vice President of NANS, Comrade Thomas Ikhine, described Prof. Samuel as 鈥渁 unique leader and administrator with an engaging character鈥 who has transformed the university into a peaceful and progressive institution.
The Coordinator of NANS, B Zone, Comrade Michael Iwara, also praised Prof. Samuel鈥檚 support for student engagement and his fatherly disposition towards student issues, which has brought relative peace to the university. Iwara noted that the Acting VC鈥檚 efforts have not gone unnoticed and are greatly appreciated by NANS.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel expressed gratitude to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for the honour. 鈥淚t鈥檚 heartwarming to know that our efforts are being noticed. I鈥檓 humbled to receive this recognition,鈥 he said.
Prof. Samuel attributed the university鈥檚 progress to divine intervention and the cooperation of staff and students. He noted that his administration took over at a tumultuous time but has made significant strides in turning things around.
The Acting VC assured the students that he would continue to prioritize their welfare as a father figure, work collaboratively with staff as a colleague, and serve the state government鈥檚 interests in growing the university. 鈥淚 will do my best to ensure the continued growth and development of our dear University,鈥 Prof. Samuel pledged.
