This Couple Is 'Worldschooling' Their 3 Kids Across 40 Countries

No uniforms. No classrooms. Just the world as their textbook. That鈥檚 the philosophy guiding Diana and Scott Blinks, a couple from Florida, US, who have turned conventional education on its head. Since mid-2022, the pair has been 鈥渨orldschooling鈥 their three daughters, taking them from continent to continent, where life itself becomes the curriculum.
It鈥檚 the kind of fantasy most schoolchildren dream of: no school bells, no exams, and no homework. But for Lucille (12), Edith (11), and Hazel (9), this dream is their daily reality. While most children their age are poring over textbooks in fluorescent-lit classrooms, the Blink children are learning Greek mythology in Athens, practicing flamenco dance in Spain, and exploring marine conservation in Montenegro.
鈥淲e wanted our daughters to learn from life, not just from books,鈥 said Diana Blinks, a 41-year-old content creator with a social media following of over 1,45,000. To feel history under their feet and taste the cultures they read about, she said.
It all began during the Covid-19 pandemic, when Diana started homeschooling her daughters as schools shuttered. What started as a temporary arrangement soon sparked a permanent lifestyle change.
鈥淥nce we saw how joyful and effective learning from home could be, we asked ourselves 鈥 what if home was the whole world?鈥 she recalled. Not long after, the couple quit their corporate jobs, packed their bags, and began their international journey in Paris.

Since then, the Blinks family has traveled to over 40 countries, living in places as diverse as Iceland, Thailand, Portugal, Morocco, and now Uruguay. In their first year alone, they checked off 22 nations, including stops in Costa Rica, Mexico, and several Caribbean islands.
The Blinks aren鈥檛 simply globe-trotting tourists. Their approach combines structured learning with immersive experiences. In Portugal, the girls joined a 鈥渨orldschooling hub鈥, a hybrid education centre called Boundless Life which runs classes from 8:45 am to 3:30 pm, followed by extracurricular activities. These hubs replicate the social and educational setting of a traditional school, but add the richness of global culture.
These hubs offer the academic routine children need, but also the depth that travel brings, Diana explained, adding that their children learned to cook pad thai in Thailand, understand the story behind Greek ruins, and make chivitos in Uruguay.
Beyond the classroom, the girls interact with local communities, build friendships with fellow worldschoolers, and absorb language and customs organically. What they gain is confidence, curiosity, and a worldview that no textbook can offer, Scott added.
In a world where traditional education is often questioned for its rigidity, the Blink family has found a rhythm that suits both heart and mind. Their upcoming itinerary includes Brazil, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and a return to Mexico.
