Former Western North Regional Minister, Joojo Rocky Obeng, says the political tide within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has shifted in favour of former Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, following the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on Channel One TV鈥檚 Face to Face on Tuesday, June 24, Obeng noted that while the 2024 election campaign initially bolstered the standing of former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, grassroots sentiment within the party has since changed.
鈥淓lection 2024 made a stronger case for Dr Alhaji Bawumia but post-election 2024, the party base and elections that are ahead of us, in my considered view, are making a much stronger case for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong,” he said.
His comments reflect what appears to be growing internal support for Agyapong, who emerged as a formidable contender in the NPP鈥檚 previous flagbearer race and has remained an influential and outspoken figure in party politics.
