Abhishek Bachchan Reveals His First Screen Test For Refugee Was With THIS Actress

Abhishek Bachchan made his debut in Refugee with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Released in 2000, JP Dutta鈥檚 directorial was loved by fans. It also starred Suniel Shetty. Well, recently the actor opened up about his first ever screen test and shared that he gave with Bipasha Basu.
In an exclusive conversation with India Today, Abhishek recalled his first ever screen test with Bipasha Basu for refugee. The actor said, 鈥淚 am petrified of an audition because I鈥檓 terrible at it. As an actor, we do a lot of screen tests. We did screen tests for 鈥楻efugee鈥 as well. In fact, my first ever screen test was with Bipasha. She was a model then. We both screen tested for 鈥楻efugee鈥.鈥
He further added, 鈥淚t鈥檚 the worst. I get very conscious because I鈥檓 somebody who I would like to believe is a director鈥檚 actor. So I really heavily rely on the notes that my director gives me.鈥
The trailer for Abhishek Bachchan鈥檚 Kaalidhar Laapata was recently released. The film, all set to release on an OTT platform, is a remake of the Tamil film KD (also known as Karuppu Durai).
Directed by Madhumita, 鈥楰aalidhar Laapata鈥 stars Abhishek as Kaalidhar鈥揳 middle-aged man grappling with memory loss, abandonment and a lifetime of quiet betrayals. When he overhears his siblings鈥 cruel plan to abandon him at the crowded Maha Kumbh Mela, Kaalidhar decides to disappear on his own terms. Fate intervenes in the form of Ballu (Daivik Bhagela), an outspoken, street-smart 8-year-old who鈥檚 been surviving solo on India鈥檚 chaotic streets. What begins as a chance meeting becomes the beginning of something far more profound.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan is currently enjoying the success of his recently released movie, Housefull 5. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala鈥檚 Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and has one of Bollywood鈥檚 largest ensemble casts in recent years. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan play the lead roles, with Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet and Johny Lever serving as supporting characters. The female cast includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma, with Chunky Panday and Dino Morea also playing prominent roles.
