Footpath at Cambridge meadow to close for up to six weeks for improvement works

A footpath through a Cambridge meadow is to close for six weeks. The path that runs through Ditton Meadows will close from June 30 for up to six weeks.

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said the closure will be in place to carry out work to improve the path. The spokesperson said: 鈥淲ork to improve cycle and pedestrian access to Ditton Meadows and secure the cattle grids against cows will start on Monday, June 30, and last for up to six weeks.

鈥淪igned diversion routes will be in place and where possible, the work will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.鈥

The following diversion routes will be in place:

If entering from Fen Ditton End

Diversion via Howard Road to the Wadloes Road entrance, then along the path on the southern edge of Ditton Meadows to the Chisholm trail and right to the Abbey Chesterton bridge.

For the cattle grid closure at Howards Lane

If approaching from Abbey Chesterton bridge, people will need to use Chisholm trail south, turn left and follow the southern edge of the meadows to the Wadloes Road exit, then follow Howard Road

For the cattle grid closure at Wadloes Road

Travel via Howard Road towards Fen Ditton or via the Chisholm trail towards the Abbey Chesterton bridge.
