Now passport process can be completed directly at your doorstep through the Government of India鈥檚 new digital initiative Mobile Passport Seva Van. These mobile vans are fully equipped with technology, it includes facilities like biometric system, camera and document scanning. Passport officers themselves reach the address given by you and check the necessary documents and complete the biometric process there. That is, a mini passport office can now come to your home.
This facility is especially beneficial for the elderly, very busy urban professionals and citizens living in rural or remote areas. This service has started as a pilot project in many cities last year, but now it is gradually reaching more places.
