The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) has taken a major step forward in its expansion journey by announcing a new team from New Delhi. And to add an extra dose of star power, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has now joined as the team鈥檚 owner. Yes, you are reading right. Even the actor himself announced on his social media.
Salman Khan took to his Instagram handle and wrote, 鈥淓xcited to begin this street to stadium cricket journey with ISPL.鈥 As soon as he announced, fans reacted. Many dropped clapping and smile emojis. One of the fans wrote, 鈥淟ove you bhaijaan.鈥 Known for promoting grassroots-level cricket in an indoor tennis-ball format, ISPL is India鈥檚 first-ever street cricket league aiming to discover and nurture raw talent from across the country. With the inclusion of the New Delhi franchise, the league now broadens its reach and fanbase in the national capital.

ISPL introduces a new franchise from New Delhi following the massive success of Season 2, which shattered viewership records with 28 million reach and 47% growth on television
Season 2 drew a record-breaking 28 million+ television viewers and marked a 47% growth in TV viewership over its inaugural edition, cementing ISPL鈥檚 place as India鈥檚 biggest sports and music carnival.
Season 2 concluded with Majhi Mumbai lifting the trophy. The tournament spotlighted rising stars like Abhishek Dalhor, Sagar Ali, Rajat Mundhe, Ketan Mhatre, Jagannath Sarkar, and Fardeen Kazi. Among them, Dalhor鈥檚 standout performance across two seasons earned him a spot as a net bowler with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL鈥攗nderscoring ISPL鈥檚 core promise of turning street cricketers into tomorrow鈥檚 professionals.
On the work front, Salman Khan was last seen in Sikandar with Rashmika Mandanna. He has not announced his next but rumours are going on that he has prepping for Aproova Lakhia鈥檚 next. He is set to portray Colonel B Santosh Babu, who led the 16th Bihar regiment during the clash with Chinese troops.
