Sonakshi Sinha’s debut film Dabangg with Salman Khan was a blockbuster hit. Released in 2010, the action drama changed her life, and since then, there has been no looking back. Recently, in conversation with Pinkvilla, the actress recalled her first day on the sets. Sonakshi described the experience as “weird and unprepared.”
In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Sonakshi Sinha recalled the first day on the Dabangg sets and said, “I didn’t know what I was getting into, but destiny had these plans for me, and once I started, there was no looking back.” Sonakshi emphasized how her debut film, Dabangg, turned out to be such a big hit, after which she never looked back. When asked if she was jittery, the Dabangg actress refused, saying that she wasn’t, as she is someone who believes in excelling in the assigned job. Sonakshi shared, “Even on set I realised, I’m here and the camera was gun to my head that perform and so I did (laughs).”
Dabangg, directed by Abhinav Kashyap, became a cultural phenomenon upon its release. The film tells the story of Chulbul Pandey, a fearless yet quirky cop with a rebellious streak, played by Salman Khan. The movie blends high-octane action, humor, and drama, while also introducing Sonakshi Sinha as the strong-willed Rajjo. With its catchy songs, memorable dialogues, and larger-than-life characters, Dabangg established itself as one of Bollywood’s most beloved masala entertainers and marked the beginning of a highly successful franchise.
Professionally, Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up to expand her horizon and step into South Indian cinema with her Telugu debut film, Jatadhara. Venkat Kalyan’s directorial is backed by Zee Studios and stars her alongside Sudheer Babu, Shilpa Shirodkar and Divya Vij.
She also has the psychological thriller Nikita Roy, directed by her brother Kussh Sinha. The film, earlier scheduled for a May 30 premiere, will now release on June 27. Produced by Vicky Bhagnani, Nicky Bhagnani and Ankur Takrani under the banners of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films, Nikita Pai Films and Kratos Entertainment, the cast of the much-awaited film also includes Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal and Suhail Nayyar.
While, Salman Khan was last seen in Sikandar with Rashmika Mandanna. The actor is yet to announce his next. However, reports are going on that he will be next seen in Aproova Lakhia’s film. He is set to portray Colonel B Santosh Babu, who led the 16th Bihar regiment during the clash with Chinese troops.
