Perth Airport traffic delays: Travellers told to allow for extra time for flights at Terminal 1, Terminal 2

Travellers have been told to allow for extra time when heading to Perth Airport, with major construction works around Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 set to cause traffic delays and congestion on surrounding roads.

It鈥檚 recommended people add at least 30 minutes to their travel time during peak periods regardless of how they are getting to the airport 鈥 private car, rideshare or shuttle bus.

The works are part of a $5 billion investment in new infrastructure which will see the construction of Perth Airport鈥檚 first hotel and two multi-storey carparks.

A Perth Airport spokesperson said while the impact on passengers is unavoidable, they are working to implement measures to improve traffic congestion while the works take place.

鈥淭raffic in Airport Central is being unavoidably impacted by the current construction of a new multi-storey carpark,鈥 the spokesperson told PerthNow.

鈥淧erth Airport apologises for any inconvenience caused to travellers and is implementing a number of measures to help minimise disruption to passengers.

鈥淭his will include monitoring of any impacts and moving quickly to deploy additional measures if required.

鈥淲e believe that with these measures in place, passengers will see an improvement in traffic flows over coming weeks.鈥

The Terminal 1 revamp 鈥 which include the addition of a Gage Roads Sports Bar, a Matso鈥檚 Brewhouse and a Discover Perth megastore 鈥 will also cause 鈥渢emporary inconveniences鈥 for travellers.
