A Delhi court fined Lipika Mitra, wife of ex-AAP MLA Somnath Bharti, Rs 5,000 for her absence in a hearing regarding her defamation complaint against Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The complaint alleges Sitharaman made defamatory statements during a press conference to damage Bharti’s reputation and election prospects.
