Supreme Court says Trump鈥檚 efforts to close the Education Department can continue

Stephan: The coup the Republican Party and its aspiring dictator Trump, blessed by the fascist majority in the Supreme Court, are trying to pull off is a modern recreation of medievalism. A tiny aristocracy of wealth, not blood, ruling an increasingly uneducated peasantry manipulated by the aristocracy through its fears and prejudices, achieved by the weaponization of misinformation.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that it would allow the Trump administration to resume dismantling the U.S. Department of Education.

The court stayed a preliminary injunction issued in May by a federal judge in Massachusetts. That injunction had directed the administration to stop gutting the department and to reinstate many of the nearly 1,400 workers the government had laid off.
