Housing sales fall by 14% during April-June quarter

India’s prime residential markets experienced a 14% annual sales decline in Q2 due to pricing concerns, except in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata. MMR and Pune saw the steepest drops. New launches also fell as geopolitical factors impacted demand, though Kolkata’s launches tripled from a low base. Affordability issues are affecting the housing market.
