606 Iranians, 28 Israelis killed as ceasefire holds

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 606 Iranians have been killed and 5,332 others wounded in the twelve-day war between Iran and Israel, reports Tasnim News Agency.

Meanwhile, Deutsche Welle (DW) reported that 28 Israelis were killed and 3,238 others injured during the conflict.

The war began when Israel launched missile strikes on the Islamic Republic on June13. In response, Iran retaliated with missile attacks of its own.

The exchange of hostilities lasted for twelve days, ending on Tuesday when US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the two sides.

The conflict resulted in heavy casualties.

According to Tasnim, Iran鈥檚 Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi, stated that since the start of Israel鈥檚 offensive, 606 Iranians had lost their lives and 5,332 others had been injured.

DW, citing official Iranian sources, also reported 610 fatalities and a total of 5,356 injuries in Iran during the war.

Israeli officials confirmed the deaths of 28 people and injuries to 3,238 others.

According to the reports, Iran fired approximately 550 ballistic missiles and nearly 1,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at Israel, the majority of which, according to the Israeli military, were intercepted.

Tasnim also quoted Israeli officials as saying that in recent days, Iran had launched 550 missiles and over 1,000 drones towards Israel.
