2 Accused Rusticated, One Dismissed: Decisions By Calcutta Law College After Student Gangraped

Amid the ongoing probe into the Kolkata law student rape case, the South Calcutta Law College has taken several decisions in the governing body meeting that took place on Tuesday to ensure safety of the students.
So far, the police have arrested four people in connection to the case. The 24-year-old victim was allegedly raped by two senior students and an alumnus of the institute in the guard鈥檚 room on June 25.
Following her complaint, police arrested the prime accused Manojit Mishra, Promit Mukherjee and Zaid Ahmed. In addition to this, the security guard of the law college was also arrested on Saturday.
The decisions taken by the South Calcutta Law College are as follows:

Out of the three accused, two students have been rusticated by the college. According to the sources, the two students will not be allowed to take admission in any other college in the future.
The accused, who was an employee, has been dismissed from service.
The security agency has been issued a show-cause notice and has also been terminated from service.
From now onwards, entry into the college premises will require showing an identity card.
Additionally, the college administration will bear all expenses of the victim.

Kolkata Rape Case
The woman, a 24-year-old law student at South Calcutta Law College, was gang-raped, allegedly by an alumnus and two senior students on the college campus on June 25.
Four persons have been arrested in the gangrape case so far, including the prime accused, Monojit Mishra. Mishra, a practicing criminal lawyer, raped the law student while the two other accused stood guard outside the room, police informed.
Mishra is an alumnus of the college, and also an ad-hoc professor.
Meanwhile, a five-member SIT was formed by the Kolkata Police which will be led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (South Suburban Division), Pradip Ghoshal. The probe team will also record a statement of the survivor and her family.
